Welding Service Process Overview


Welding is a process in which weldments are joined together by heating or pressurization. Depending on the 

welding process, welding methods can be divided into three main categories: pressure welding, fusion welding 

and brazing, of which arc welding is the most commonly used in fusion welding.


Welding characteristics and applications

1, compared with the Royal joint, welding has the advantages of saving metal materials, high productivity, high 

strength joints, good sealing performance, easy to realize the advantages of mechanization and automation.

2, compared with casting, welding process is simple, high productivity, material savings, low cost, conducive to 

product renewal.

3, for large, complex structural components, the use of casting a welding, forging a welding, punching a welding 

composite process, can realize a small spell big, simplify the complexity to overcome the lack of casting or 

forging equipment capacity, is conducive to reducing costs, saving materials, improve economic efficiency.

4, can connect dissimilar metals, easy to manufacture bimetallic structure. Such as cemented carbide inserts and 

turning tool shanks welded together in the worn workpiece surface surfacing a layer of wear-resistant materials to extend its service life.

But welding also has some shortcomings, such as the structure can not be dismantled, replacement and repair is 

not convenient; welded structure is prone to stress and deformation, prone to welding defects and so on. 

Welding technology is mainly used in the manufacture of metal structures, such as building structures, hulls, 

vehicles, aerospace, electronic and electrical products, boilers and pressure vessels.



Welding safety technology

1、We should wear good working clothes, working shoes and gloves before welding, and we must use a mask 

when welding to prevent the arc light from hurting our skin, face and eyes.

2, before welding to check whether the welder is grounded, cable, welding pliers insulation is intact, welding 

pliers should not be placed on the table or workpiece has been connected to the power, to prevent short-circuit 

burned welder.

3, the human body should not touch the two outputs of the welding torch at the same time to prevent electric 

shock.

4, gas welding with oxygen cylinders and acetylene bottles near the fire is strictly prohibited.

5, gas welding before checking the water level of the flashback preventer, the occurrence of flashback to 

immediately close the acetylene valve, check the cause, and try to eliminate.

6, gas welding, do not spray the flame on people and rubber hose.

7, just welded weldments can not be directly touched by hand, clear welding slag should pay attention to the 

surrounding situation, control the direction of welding slag to prevent hot slag scalding or ignition of goods.

8, welding workplace should be well ventilated to prevent the flux skin decomposition of harmful gases gathered 

around the operator, affecting human health.

9, do not use the naked eye to watch the arc directly, the arc should be observed before the start of the 

surrounding conditions, so as to avoid the arc to harm themselves and others.

10, welding should be cut off after the end of the power supply, and in the elimination of the scene may exist 

after the residual fire before leaving!
